Sorry to burst your bubble but it isn't actually based on a true story. Sure the characters are all real people that existed but their lives weren't interconnected in real life. In real life Thorfinn actually died before cnut even became king of England. (I'm pretty sure they didn't even know each other as cnut is never mentioned in Thorfinns wiki page. Although don't quote me on that as its almost impossible to find general non academic information due to the popularity of the anime and I ain't reading academic papers just to find out.)
Also Thorfinns wiki page mentions nothing of him being a warrior or anything. He was just an adventurer, that's it.

But I do agree all these people are mad for no reason especially when Thorfinns real life story has like no action in it.

This is like a redemption arc in a story sooner or later it will get more serious. This made me cry 😭.

Okayyyy so here are my thought about whatever this is.
season 1 gained a lot of fans that love action, including me, and am I ignorant for wanting action instead of a good character development? yes I am. Because of season 1 we were all expecting much more action and good fights, and what I truly want is Thorfinn back in the Battle field but, for a good cause not just random killing. If with this character development I see no more action by the end of this season, this anime will really disappoint my expectations, because one of the main reasons I enjoyed the 1st season so much is for the fights.
